Alessio Nardi
an Italian industrial designer currently based in London
I graduated in July 2008 from Politecnico di Milano with the final mark of 110/110.
At university I achieved a strong knowledge of design culture. I partook in several courses in design history, anthropology, life cycle design and materials and manufacturing processes (which has been fundamental to enhance my research methods).
I have also acquired a wide range of technical skills including: 3D modelling (both digital and physical), graphics and typography awareness and professional studio photography.
In September 2006 I had the chance to spend 6 months studying at London Metropolitan University attending the Furniture Design course as an Erasmus Student.
In Milan, I developed my dissertation project in collaboration with Ghelfi S.r.l., a highly prestigious Italian packaging company, where I have acquired further experience and proficiency regarding the B2B design process.
In September 2009 I moved back to London and started working for Ryan Frank where I achieved more confidence with sustainable materials and furniture making mainly working on re-designing old pieces of Ryan Frank’s collection.
I am currently working at Morph studio since January 2009, collaborating on the design process – from the concept development to the more detailed final stages – of several furniture and kitchenware projects for companies like Joseph and Joseph, Innermost and Jamie Oliver.
